It is the policy of the AOBP to provide appropriate accommodations for candidates who are "disabled" as that term is defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"). All required documentation must be provided in a timely manner to the AOBP by or for the candidate. Prior accommodation does not necessarily guarantee an ADA accommodation for any future examination.

In order for a candidate to be considered for an appropriate accommodation, they MUST complete the following:

1. The candidate MUST register for and schedule their Certification or Osteopathic Continuous Certification examination through the AOBP offices in Chicago directly by phone, (800) 621-1773, ext 8109.

2. Applicants for an ADA accommodation MUST review and follow the instructions on the document that is available for download from the AOBP website here.

3. The candidate MUST complete the required ADA accommodation application and supply appropriate documentation at the time of application for the Certification or Osteopathic Continuous Certification examination.

4. Documentation MUST be current according to standards established by the AOBP.

ADA candidates can register, but may not schedule an accommodated examination until their requested accommodation has been approved by the AOBP. The AOBP will provide scheduling information with the approval notice. ADA candidates are strongly advised to submit their accommodation requests early and to provide all necessary documentation to receive consideration for their accommodations.

ADA candidates are advised to check the AOBP website at www.aobp.org or contact the AOBP directly for the most current policies and information.
