Scheduling with the Prometric Test Center

An email with instruction will be sent to each candidate after the approval notice. Candidates should follow instructions and on-screen prompts to be able to correctly use the Prometric online scheduling system.

1. Scheduling an Examination Date & Test Center

Candidates may schedule an examination location as soon as they are deemed eligible.

Candidates must schedule an examination site (appointment) through the Prometric website.

Candidates are allowed to schedule at least 50 days before a scheduled test date in order to increase the likelihood that they will obtain the location where they wish to test.

To begin the scheduling process, candidates will be prompted to choose their desired testing program [American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics] and the country and state in which they wish to test.

In order to schedule an examination site, the candidate must have been approved by the AOBP and have their AOA six (6) digit identification number available. The candidate will choose “Schedule an exam” to view AOBP information and the Prometric Privacy Policy.

After entering their AOA identification number, the candidate will be given a list of test centers from which to choose in the state they entered. If the preferred test site is no longer available, candidates may browse for alternative test centers.

ADA candidates are reminded that they may not register for an accommodated examination until their request has been approved by the AOBP in writing. Special instructions will be sent separately to ADA candidates.

2. Scheduling Confirmation

After scheduling, candidates will receive a confirmation number on-line from Prometric. This number can be used to confirm the scheduled examination on the Prometric website. Candidates will receive an email confirmation of their registration and scheduling. Confirmation of registration and scheduling will be sent via email ONLY.

AOBP RULES REQUIRE THAT AN ELIGIBLE AND APPROVED CANDIDATE MUST SCHEDULE TO TEST MORE THAN 120 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF THE SCHEDULED DATE AND TIME IN ORDER TO TEST. Please refer to the General Information session on this tutorial for additional scheduling, and payment regulations.
